Museum Debuts Rare Political PEZ for Charity Fundraiser

The Burlingame Museum of PEZ Memorabilia will debut what is arguably the two rarest Pez candy dispensers in the world.

Burlingame, CA, October 30, 2012 --(PR.com)-- On Saturday, November 3, 2012, the Burlingame Museum of PEZ Memorabilia will debut what is arguably the two rarest Pez candy dispensers in the world.

Created in 1961 as a gift to a current U.S. President, Pez Candy Inc. produced both a Democratic Donkey dispenser and a Republican Elephant dispenser.

These two dispensers have an estimated value of $20,000 - $25,000.

As recently as September of this year, Pez Candy claimed only two Democratic Donkey dispensers existed, and both are currently in the hands of Pez Candy Inc.

Our announcement confirms that a third Democratic Donkey has been found.

A Democratic Donkey Pez was presented to President Kennedy on his 1961 trip to Vienna, Austria.

The Republican Elephant is also one of the rarest of all Pez dispensers, with only eight other examples known to exist.

Gary Doss has been owner and curator of the museum for over 17 years.

He recently flew to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to inspect and ultimately purchase these dispensers in the parking lot of a neighborhood bank.

The Burlingame Museum of PEZ Memorabilia has joined with local nonprofit InnVision Shelter Network for this event.

All proceeds collected on Saturday, November 3, 2012, and Sunday, November 4, 2012 will go to InnVision Shelter Network, a local nonprofit dedicated to ending homelessness.

A donation of $10.00 per person is requested.

Guests will have access to the entire museum, including the Classic Toy Museum and the Banned Toy Museum.
