The Ladder is Always There: Join VIDA and Guests for Cocktails and Conversation on November 9, 2012
New York, NY, October 30, 2012 --(PR.com)-- VIDA – Women in Literary Arts is pleased to host “The Ladder is Always There: Join VIDA and Guests for Cocktails and Conversation” on Friday, November 9, at New York University’s Lillian Vernon House. The event is free and open to the public.
Panelists and guests are invited to actively discuss lack of gender parity in publishing and professional roles in literature. “At this event, we’ll go beyond identifying the current obstacles female writers face,” said Cate Marvin, VIDA Co-Founder. “We’ll talk about how we help emerging and established writers today and we’ll identify opportunities that will have even more impact. How else can we help female writers achieve recognition and success?”
Brief presentations and a question and answer session will be followed by informal conversation, cocktails and merriment among those who desire to create a literary climate more inclusive of work by female writers.
Panelists include:
· Rosebud Ben-Oni (HER KIND, VIDA)
· Amy King (The Count, VIDA)
· Becca Klaver (Events, VIDA)
· Cate Marvin (Co-Founder, VIDA)
· Lucie Brock-Broido (Columbia)
