Antioch Rescue Squad Chief Steps Down

Antioch, IL, October 31, 2012 --(PR.com)-- The Antioch Rescue Squad, a non-profit organization comprised of dedicated volunteers, announced today that Wayne Sobczak has stepped down from his position as the Squad’s Chief. Deputy Chief Brian DeKind has assumed the role of Chief effective immediately.

Sobczak has been a member of the Antioch Rescue Squad for more than 40 years, serving as Chief for the last decade. Following his retirement, Sobczak plans to focus on his business as a real estate agent with Realty World – Tiffany in Antioch, Ill.

Sobczak’s retirement comes ahead of the Squad’s officer elections on Monday, November 19. The elections mark an important change in the structure of the Antioch Rescue Squad’s Board of Directors. The Board, to be elected by the Squad’s entire membership, will consist of seven individuals, including the chief, deputy chief and two assistant chiefs. Three individuals, completely independent of the Squad, will fill the Board positions of president, treasurer and secretary. These will be well-respected members of the community with extensive leadership, business and/or medical experience.
