A new innovation leadership development programme designed by experienced consultant Natalie Turner will help those in leadership positions build the necessary skills to innovate, whether they are entrepreneurs, corporate executives or planning to launch a new venture. The programme will be run in conjunction with VERITA, Singapore’s leading health and wellness centre.

Singapore, Singapore, November 01, 2012 --(PR.com)-- New holistic development programme run by innovation expert Natalie Turner aims to bridge the gap between the aspirations of executives to innovate and their ability to execute and create new sources of value.

Although innovation is widely recognised as a core driver of a company’s growth, performance and financial success, many executives are not confident about achieving results in this area. A new innovation leadership development programme designed by experienced consultant Natalie Turner will bridge the gap and help those in leadership positions build the necessary skills to innovate, whether they are entrepreneurs, corporate executives or planning to launch a new venture.

The programme will be run in conjunction with VERITA, Singapore’s leading health and wellness centre. Called ‘Women Who Lead’ it is has been designed for women in leadership positions, and its holistic nature incorporates health and wellness with a practical approach. In future, Ms Turner will run the innovation leadership programme for mixed groups.

Founder and CEO of leadership innovation consultancy The Entheo Network, Singapore-based Ms Turner has consulted to some of the world’s leading organisations including American Express, BT, Leo Pharma and Cisco Systems. She has also worked with a cross section of Singapore organisations and Government including EDB, Ministry of Manpower, Singapore Airlines and Changi Airport. An experienced facilitator, consultant and trainer, Ms Turner works to unlock the potential of organisations and individuals to help them create new products and services while focusing on the development of innovation skills, capabilities and culture.

Ms Turner cites a McKinsey survey on innovation, which asked executives about innovation at their companies. Although executives saw innovation as the most important way for companies to accelerate the pace of change in today’s global business environment, the results showed that most executives were generally disappointed in their ability to stimulate innovation.

“Building an organisation in which innovation plays a central role is far more difficult than most executives ever imagine it to be,” says Ms Turner. “People and culture are the most important drivers of innovation, which is why I have designed my programme to provide a practical approach to delivering success in this area.”

The new innovation development programme is designed around a series of facilitated conversations combined with leadership and innovation frameworks. In addition, it facilitates networking and encourages emotional and personal wellbeing. “Leading innovation requires strength of mind, strength of body and strength of spirit. The partnership with VERITA is fundamental to this, and a core component of the Programme. As a health and wellness centre, VERITA specialists will provide participants with practical tools and techniques to strengthen daily wellness practices as well as provide an individualised treatment per Module. This is to help strengthen individual’s internal capacities to withstand the stress and pressure they have to deal with on a day to day basis.

“Innovation - the creation of value out of new ideas- is the lifeblood of organisations large and small,” says Ms Turner. “Innovation requires leaders who can take an idea, shape it and make it happen – and the purpose of this new programme is to help participants build the strong internal capabilities and external practical skills to lead themselves and their associates into often unknown territory.”

The “Women Who Lead” programme consists of five full one-day sessions spread out over a year – starting late January and finishing at the end of 2013. At its core is the Six “I”s of InnovationTM, an integrated methodology Ms Turner designed that provides a map to charter the complexities of innovation as well as develop leadership skills.

More than just a training programme, the five modules are designed to allow participants to work on current project ideas and leadership challenges, draw on the collective experience of the group, and make new connections.

“There is a lot of talk about innovation,” says Ms Turner, “But not much support to actually help people innovate, even less in helping people build the necessary leadership skills and capabilities that bring new ideas into the world. The “Women Who Lead” programme will equip participants with instantly useable, practical skills and cutting-edge processes to enable them to innovate in their professional and personal lives.”

The “Women Who Lead” innovation leadership programme covers three key areas:

1. Innovation process
The Six “I”s of InnovationTM and how to apply them to the group’s leadership challenges
2. Innovation practice
How to develop the mindset and internal strength needed to innovate successfully
3. Innovation partnership
How to build networks and leverage social capital to lead more effectively

The Programme format is designed to accommodate busy professionals who will be more likely to commit to one full-day every few months, as opposed to five consecutive days. All modules combine learning theory, practical case studies and spaces for personal reflection on leadership practice. They also include health-management workshops and spa treatments conducted by resident VERITA therapists.
