EPAM Launches Software Development Centers in Ukraine
Princeton, NJ, December 02, 2005 --(PR.com)-- EPAM (www.epam.com), the number one provider of software engineering services in Central and Eastern Europe, announced today the launch of its first of several "engineering centers of excellence" in Ukraine. EPAM was recognized as #1 of "Top 5 To Watch in Central and Eastern Europe" in the global "Offshore 100" listing by neoIT and CMP's Managing Offshore as well as #3 globally in specialty application development and EPAM considers its expansion into Ukraine to be a natural extension of its business model, which has already proven to be successful in Hungary, Russia and Belarus.
The new engineering centers will play a key role in continuing EPAM's exceptional growth rate. "Software Magazine" recently announced its "Global Software 500" list of the world's foremost software and service companies. EPAM was honored as #312 (vs. #355 in 2004) and was specifically highlighted as the second fastest growing company in the $30 - $100 million revenue category, with an 83% growth in revenue. The magazine's feature article describes EPAM as "the leading provider of IT outsourcing and software services in Central and Eastern Europe" (see article at
www.softwaremag.com/L.cfm?Doc=2005-09/2005-09software-500).
EPAM's goal is to recruit at least 200 people in Ukraine before the end of 2006, and ideally to surpass this target. In addition to the main center in Kiev, EPAM plans to establish 2 regional development centers to deliver software development projects primarily for clients in the EU and the USA. As with EPAM's existing centers in Hungary, Belarus and Russia the focus of the operations in Ukraine will be excellence in engineering, efficiency, quality and innovation not on remote staff augmentation. The Ukrainian development centers will reinforce EPAM's position as the leader for "Delivering Excellence in Software Engineering."
EPAM offers its staff an attractive compensation package, a comfortable and enjoyable environment, excellent team spirit, world-class development tools and the most interesting and challenging projects from globally renowned clients. With clients that are global technology and industry leaders such as Microsoft, BEA Systems, SAP, Hyperion, SUN, British Telecom, Reuters, London Stock Exchange, AeroMexico, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Colgate Palmolive, Samsung and T-Systems, and with a very rich corporate culture and well established corporate values, EPAM is able to maintain the highest standards of software engineering processes and offer its employees to acquire and maintain state-of-the-art skills, a faster personal and professional growth and real career advancement opportunities in Ukraine and abroad.
"Many developers agree that good pay and nice offices are not enough. Having interesting and challenging projects is another important factor in job satisfaction", said Yury Antaniuk, a native of Kiev who is currently EPAM's Director of Quality Assurance in Belarus. Mr. Antaniuk continued to add that "EPAM's list of clients and our focus on high-end technology platforms, which represent the pinnacle of the IT world today, guarantee interesting and challenging work for our future employees. This will add value to their professional resumes while receiving a very competitive compensation and benefits package. We have already hired key team members for a number of projects assigned to Ukraine and we have proven our supposition that Ukraine has great IT talent to be well founded".
Karl Robb, EPAM's Executive VP of Global Operations, commented on the occasion: "Ukraine has a large and very talented pool of software engineers. The traditional focus and strength of the education system, which has been very well maintained since the break up of the Soviet Union, combined with Ukraine's deep legacy in defense and high-technology industries provides a greater than average supply of first-class engineers with experience in complex software development. This fits well with the needs of EPAM's clients, which are typically technologically complex and require exceptional quality using the absolute latest IT platforms and tools".
Mr. Robb added that "Recent events in Ukraine have given increased global visibility of Ukraine's software industry. We expect the competition for new employees in Ukraine to be stiff. However, we are confident that our focus on excellence, our outstanding client list and the challenging and interesting projects we have acquired will provide employees exceptional opportunities for career advancement, while working in a comfortable office and great team atmosphere."
