Religion Communicators Council Visits Nashville Friends Meeting Place

The Nashville Chapter of Religion Communicators Council paid a visit to the Nashville Friends Meeting Place for its October meeting.

Nashville, TN, November 02, 2012 --(PR.com)-- The Nashville chapter of the Religion Communicators Council (RCC) made a special trip to visit the Friends Meeting Place this month to learn and ask questions about the history, beliefs and practices of the faith. Twenty RCC members enjoyed refreshments in the worship hall while hearing from the local clerk.

Bill Wolfe, who serves as the Clerk of the Nashville Friends Meeting on 26th Avenue North, explained the history of Quakerism and the various denominations from Evangelical to Orthodox. He described how his congregation of Friends worship in silence until one is moved to speak or even to sing.

President of Nashville RCC Chapter and Pastor of the local Church of Scientology, Rev. Brian Fesler said, “We were pleased to visit the Friends Meeting and learn from them. One purpose of the RCC is to help members learn about others’ faith traditions, and this was a wonderful program.”

Wolfe mentioned that they hold a potluck luncheon following Meeting for Worship on the first Sunday of the month. He said that community members are welcome, with or without a dish to share.

The RCC, founded in 1929, is an interfaith association of religion communicators at work in print and electronic communication, marketing and in public relations, and more information is available at its website: www.religioncommunicators.org.
