Nevada City, CA, November 03, 2012 --(PR.com)-- On Saturday, October 20, Aikido’Ka held its fifth We Can Drive-Through for the Food Bank. Drive-Through was a rousing success, raising over $2,300 and approximately 350 pounds of food.
“The continued success of Drive-Through is absolutely inspiring. While the holidays and cold weather approach, the Food Bank struggles to keep up. Aikido’Ka is thrilled to help and make a difference,” said Frank Bloksberg Chief Instructor of Aikido’Ka.
Being involved in Drive-Through is an extraordinary experience. “People would ask us how long we’d be out collecting. When we told them we were collecting all day, they would say they would come back. And they would – with bags of food for the hungry! This happened over and over throughout the day,” said Mr. Bloksberg.
Aikido’Ka trains peaceful warriors and community leaders through vigorous physical and leadership training. Aikido’Ka students perform community service as part of their training. Aikido is unique among martial arts by striving for twin goals – practicing effective self-defense while hurting no one. Aikido’Ka holds classes for all ages and physical condition.
