Casa de Amparo Chosen to Receive Donations from SoCal Volleyball Club
San Marcos, CA, November 04, 2012 --(PR.com)-- SoCal Volleyball Club announced today the charity chosen to receive donations raised from their fall tryout program.
SoCal Directors, Scott Philips and Aimee Asebrook, chose Casa de Amparo to support this coming year. “At SoCal, we try to foster the spirit of community service within our kids, by participating in at least one project that benefits our community each season,” shares Asebrook. “We have teamed up with ‘Casa de Amparo’, which provides residentially based services in a safe and nurturing setting, for children who have been removed from their homes as a result of abuse or neglect. As an organization that supports the health and well being of athletes in North County, this organization is near and dear to the heart of our volleyball club.”
This fall, SoCal will donate a portion of each registration fee from their regional and national team tryouts. The fund will be used for Casa Kids to participate in a local volleyball program at the club’s location in San Marcos. Already, funds were raised over two weeks in October from the fourteen and younger tryouts. Next week, the club will continue the fundraising during high school tryouts, November 10-18.
In addition to raising funds, the club is hosting a week long collection drive for items that encourage participation in the Casa Kids’ therapeutic programs. Items from children’s DVDs, dolls, and hair accessories to skate magazines, cars and Legos are on the list.
