He uses humor, anecdote and everyday examples to make it easy for people to absorb messages that are vitally important to the success of their businesses. He has presented to audiences in 49 states, 10 countries, and 5 continents. He is also a bestselling author.
“We've been trying to place Rick Segel in front of our NAFDMA Convention audience for 5 or 6 years. He's not just a speaker, he's a practitioner. Rick's no nonsense style and approach reflects his vast experience and natural feel for retail, marketing and business,” states NAFDMA Executive Director, Charlie Touchette. “I’ve got to admit this blue collar city guy isn't the one I'd want to put on my field tractor or managing my crop plan. But, when it comes to attracting customers and selling products and experiences, Rick is one of us.”
Along with the Keynote Address, Mr. Segel will present a full-day workshop entitled “Proactive-Retailing: Re-Thinking, Re-Positioning, and Re-Focusing your Business to go to the Next Level.” He has also been tapped to speak in two concurrent sessions. The workshops and sessions will take place on February 5-6, 2013 in Portland, Oregon.
The Convention will have a full line up of presenters covering many different aspects of farm direct marketing and agritourism. Also featured will be Matt Heller of Performance Optimist Consulting. Matt Heller has spent the past 24 years in the amusement/theme park industry and is the Chairperson of the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) Human Resources Committee.
Additional concurrent sessions will include many well-know NAFDMA members. These speakers have firsthand knowledge and expertise in the industry. They will share their insights and experiences on subjects ranging from food on the farm to technology that works to ideas for diversifying.
