Time is Running Out on Purchasing This Year’s Valley Permaculture Alliance Fruit Trees

The VPA, a valley nonprofit organization promoting sustainable urban living, is supporting the 13th Annual Fruit Tree Sales program where they sell over 120 varieties of trees.

Phoenix, AZ, November 04, 2012 --(PR.com)-- November 25, 2012 is the last day individuals can place fruit tree orders with the Valley Permaculture Alliance (VPA).

The VPA, a valley nonprofit organization promoting sustainable urban living, is supporting the 13th Annual Fruit Tree Sales program where they sell over 120 varieties of trees such as Honey Crisp Apple, Vietnamese Guava, Ruby Red Grapefruit and Arizona Sweet Orange. Many of the varieties offered are not sold in local nurseries and have never been offered in the valley before!

Dwarf tree options are available for those interested in container gardening, and numerous full-sized trees are sold for those landscaping a front or backyard. In addition to providing an annual source of healthy food, fruit trees offer shade, purify surrounding air, and improve the aesthetic quality of a property.

Individuals can place fruit tree orders at www.valleypermaculturealliance.org/fruittrees/ until November 25, 2012. Trees will be available for pick up at two day long Fruit Tree Events in late winter and early spring. VPA provides onsite demonstrations at the Fruit Tree Events to teach buyers how to plant and care for their new bare root fruit trees.

As an initiative in the support of the VPA’s mission to inspire sustainable urban living in the desert southwest, the VPA also donates fruit trees to community & school gardens. This program is also available to anyone wanting to donate a tree.

Last year, 234 trees were donated to 18 different schools and community gardens. The public is encouraged to donate to this program at the VPA website. For more information on the Community & School garden program or the Fruit Tree Program email FruitTrees@vpaaz.org
