First published in 2009, the guide features seventy-five shops, restaurants, and design resources that includes everything that vacationers and residents alike will find useful. Kaplan says, “I originally created this guide during the Recession, because many of our clients would say they were surprised how many vacant shops there were in Downtown Palm Springs. I wanted to support our local businesses, and show our visitors that actually Palm Springs was very much alive and an exciting place to dine and shop, regardless of the downturn in the economy at that time.” The guide includes a long list of shopping opportunities and excellent resources for mid-century modern fans including a comprehensive list of galleries and retro antique shops specializing in modern design.
