Bayer Materialscience's Spray Polyurethane Foam Accreditation Wins Gold
Bayer employees awarded best paper award at CPI’s Polyurethane Technical Conference.
Pittsburgh, PA, November 07, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Identifying an opportunity in the polyurethane industry for consistent and universal standards for spray polyurethane foam (SPF) application contractors, Bayer MaterialScience LLC developed a Contractor Accreditation Program for SPF. The program consists of a bronze level basic accreditation as well as additional tiers specific to the type of SPF application.
This accreditation program was the subject of a paper authored by Bob Creighton, manager, Contractor Accreditation and Warranty Programs, and his coauthors Jim Lambach, head of Technology and Technical Marketing, Spray Polyurethane Insulation and Roofing Materials; and Martha Vandamme, manager, Applicator Information Program, all of Bayer MaterialScience LLC.
“Creation and Implementation of a Contractor Accreditation Program for Spray Polyurethane Foam,” earned the authors a best-paper award at the Center for the Polyurethanes Industry’s 2012 Polyurethane Technical Conference.
Bronze level accreditation is a Bayer requirement for any contractor who wishes to purchase the company’s SPF systems. In their paper, the authors presented the rationale for the program, and took an in-depth look at the required steps to achieve accreditation.
The paper, which won in the “Worker Health and Safety session” category, joins four others won by Bayer in the last two years at the Polyurethanes Technical Conference.
