A Top Polish Interactive Books Publisher Launches Its First Free iPad and iPhone App for English Speaking Kids
PGS Software, a Polish IT outsourcing company that recently captured local market with bestselling interactive iPad and iPhone publications, expands to English speaking countries with its first free book.
Wroclaw, Poland, November 07, 2012 --(PR.com)-- PGS Software is currently one of the biggest Polish interactive iPad book publishers. Company officials attribute this success to efficient publishing middle-ware, coupled with a strong pool of developers experienced in creating iPad and iPhone apps. They claim it allowed PGS to streamline the book creation process and rapidly expand its catalogue.
At one point PGS books from BajkiPolskie series claimed 7 out of 10 top spots in the sales charts of the Polish App Store. So far PGS published 29 of them, and the catalogue keeps growing. Now, having satisfied the needs of the local market, PGS decided to expand its iPad books division abroad.
A first international interactive book by PGS, the BirdGuide for Kids, is being published right now in six major languages simultaneously, including English. The book is said to have originated from a passion of some of the PGS employees – bird watching. It features professionally recorded bird sounds, together with pictures and descriptions. It follows an increasingly popular freemium model. The basic version is free, and a premium expansion with 38 more birds costs $1.99.
Shortly after the premiere, the Polish edition of the BirdGuide for Kids climbed to the No.1 spot in the Polish App Store. PGS employees hope it will show strong performance in other stores as well.
"While we understand that English market is much more demanding and crowded, we hope that our expertise and low-cost streamlined publishing process will allow us to bring great value to English-speaking kids and their parents," says Joanna Ambrozik, a Head of Marketing at the publishing division of PGS.
