The Seminole Tribe of Florida Native Learning Center is Proud to Announce the Addition of Training Specialist Adam Recvlohe
The Native Learning Center is happy to see its company grow with new team members like Adam Recvlohe (Muscogee (Creek) Nation) and with the promotions of Nicole Harker and Jared Forman. With this addition and promotions to the Native Learning Center team, they will continue to be dedicated to the development of cultural and quality of life skills for all Native and Indigenous people.
Hollywood, FL, November 09, 2012 --(PR.com)-- The Native Learning Center, a Seminole Tribe of Florida program dedicated to the development of cultural and quality of life skills for all Native and Indigenous people, is proud to announce the addition of a new team member Adam Recvlohe (Muscogee (Creek) Nation), Training Specialist, and the promotions of two Native Learning Center staff members Nicole Harker, Administrative Services Program Director and Jared Forman, Curriculum Design and Development Specialist.
Adam Recvlohe joined the Seminole Tribe of Florida’s Native Learning Center (NLC) as the Training Specialist in November of 2012. He was raised in St. Petersburg, Florida. His father is Wathla Recvlohe, a citizen of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation; was born in Talequah, Oklahoma and raised in Sapulpa, Oklahoma. His mother is Nancy Recvlohe who is English-Canadian, and was raised in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. After obtaining his undergraduate degree from the University of Florida, Adam worked for four years in Oklahoma with tribes and non-profit organizations to revitalize different facets of cultural sovereignty. His area of work included language, food, and governmental autonomy issues. He is now in graduate school in the Masters of Jurisprudence in Indian Law Program offered by the University of Tulsa.
As the Training Specialist, Adam will partner with NLC Departments to strategize and promote the Native Learning Center’s goal of providing education and training to Tribal members and those working within Indian County. Adam will work on enhancing knowledge, skills, and abilities in all five focus areas covered by the NLC: Celebrating Culture & Language, Financial Wellness, Grants Education, Housing Strategies, and Tribal Government.
Nicole Harker became a proud employee of the Seminole Tribe of Florida in January of 2009. She began her career with the Tribe as the Administrative Assistant for the Housing Department, during which time she had the opportunity to work closely, not only with the Seminole Tribe of Florida’s Tribal Members, but also with other tribal members during conferences and events held by the Native Learning Center.
In November of 2009 Nicole made the transition to the NLC where she has held the title of Multimedia Program Director. She has been promoted to Administrative Services Program Director, where she will be responsible for coordinating, planning, and supervising the administrative and office management activities, thereby relieving the management staff of a variety of administrative tasks.
Jared Forman joined the Seminole Tribe of Florida’s Native Learning Center (NLC) as the Curriculum Development Specialist in July of 2011, and has been promoted to Curriculum Design and Development Specialist where he works to design, develop, and assist in the implementation of the curriculum for the NLC educational programs. By utilizing a variety of technologies, he works to develop cutting-edge programs and courses that support the educational goals of the Native Learning Center.
Prior to this position, Mr. Forman was a secondary Language Arts and Social Studies teacher in Broward County, Florida. He holds undergraduate degrees in English and Education, as well as a Master’s degree in Educational Technology from Nova Southeastern University.
The Native Learning Center (NLC) is an educational resource that offers Native and Indigenous people the opportunity to gain knowledge and skills that improve quality of life through housing related educational programs. The NLC hosts conferences and individual courses that bring Native and Indigenous people together to discuss vital topics that promote cultural development within Indian Country. In cooperation with the Housing and Urban Development Office, Eastern Woodlands Office of Native American Programs (EWONAP), and various Native American trainers throughout Indian Country, the NLC developed areas of concentration to complement current national organizations that support EWONAP’s mission to promote development of Native housing and housing related activities.
