Southfield, MI, November 09, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Collins, Einhorn, Farrell & Ulanoff, P.C. announced that two of its attorneys were selected among the 2013 Best Lawyers® in America “Detroit Lawyers of the Year” in their respective practice areas.
Best Lawyers®, the oldest and most respected peer-review publication in the legal profession, named Shareholder and President Michael J. Sullivan the 2013 Detroit Professional Malpractice Law — Defendants “Lawyer of the Year” for the third consecutive year. Fellow Shareholder Noreen L. Slank was selected as the 2013 Detroit Appellate Practice “Lawyer of the Year.”
After more than a quarter of a century in publication, Best Lawyers is designating “Lawyers of the Year” in high-profile legal specialties in large legal communities. Only a single lawyer in a particular specialty in each community is being honored as the “Lawyer of the Year.”
Sullivan has nearly 30 years of litigation experience. In the professional liability arena, he has defended attorneys, physicians, accountants, architects, engineers, real estate appraisers, real estate brokers and title agents in defense of significant claims involving personal injury, property damage and business loss. The University of Detroit Mercy School of Law alumnus also has substantial experience in product liability litigation, and maintains an active general civil litigation practice, including business disputes, insurance disputes, and personal injury defense.
Slank has practiced in the state and federal appellate courts since 1980 with an emphasis on the defense of medical and legal malpractice actions, insurance coverage disputes, and the defense of catastrophic personal injury cases. She practices both in appellate courts and in the trial courts (particularly during post-verdict proceedings). Slank is a past chair of the Appellate Practice Section of the State Bar of Michigan and frequent author, editor, and lecturer on a variety of procedural and substantive legal issues.
Best Lawyers compiles its lists of outstanding attorneys by conducting exhaustive peer-review surveys in which thousands of leading lawyers confidentially evaluate their professional peers. The current, 19th edition of The Best Lawyers in America (2013) is based on more than 4.4 million detailed evaluations of lawyers by other lawyers.
The lawyers being honored as “Lawyers of the Year” have received particularly high ratings in surveys by earning a high level of respect among their peers for their abilities, professionalism, and integrity.
