Boston Scientific Expanding Presence in Marlborough

Marlborough, MA, November 12, 2012 --(PR.com)-- The Marlborough Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) and the City of Marlborough have welcomed Boston Scientific Corporation’s plans to establish its corporate headquarters in Marlborough and expand its presence in the city. The expansion is expected to bring 800 jobs to Marlborough.

“Boston Scientific’s expansion in Marlborough is wonderful news for the city and our local economy,” said Tim Cummings of the MEDC. “Companies continue to view Marlborough as an optimal location for their operations.” Over the past year, several companies have expanded their presence in the City of Marlborough or announced plans to move here, including TJX Cos., Quest Diagnostics, OneShield, and Ken’s Foods.

Boston Scientific, which develops, manufactures, and markets medical devices, announced today that it will consolidate its Natick, Mass., location through phases, beginning in the spring of 2013. The company expects the entire move will be done in mid-2014, when it will have completed construction of an additional building on its Marlborough campus. Boston Scientific purchased its Marlborough facility in 2004.
