Nashville’s Artist to the Stars, Corey Frizzell, Wins the Prestigious 2012 AMG Heritage Freelance Visual Artist of the Year Award

Nashville, TN, November 14, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Nashville’s Artist to the Stars, Corey Frizzell, was honored for his artistic collaboration with some of music’s biggest names with the 2012 Artists Music Guild Heritage Award for Freelance Visual Artist of the Year during a star studded, red carpet gala on Saturday night, November 10th, in Fort Mill, South Carolina. Also recognized with AMG Heritage Awards were Country Music greats, Barbara Mandrell and Terri Gibbs.

The International Academy of Music Arts and Sciences, Inc. recognize the artistic achievements of select individuals with their AMG Heritage Awards. The AMG, founded by Emmy Award winners, David L Cook and Chris Nowels, began the Heritage Awards to recognize and present twenty five awards to artists in various categories. Despite the term music in the organization’s title, it umbrellas all forms of artistic expression.

It’s been a whirlwind the last eight months for Frizzell. Earlier this year, Frizzell scored an image licensing deal with Cedar Creek Custom Case Shoppe, a world leader in custom instrument case building, to brandish images of Frizzell’s highly sought after fine art portraits of Country Music Stars and Legends as case lid art. The newly designed cases were unveiled at the 2012 International Bluegrass Music Association’s IBMA Fan Fest in Nashville’s Downtown Convention Center.

Frizzell also inked a publishing deal with leading national publisher, Arcadia Publishing, to author a new book on Nashville’s Honky Tonk History. Country Music Legend Willie Nelson has written the forward to the book which will be part of Arcadia Publishing’s Images of America series, due to be released in the summer of 2013.

The Frizzell family, most famous for its prominence on the Country Music Charts, is now witnessing the artistic successes of the second generation. Although he has siblings following in the Frizzell music footsteps, who have accepted the challenge of emerging from the giant shadow first cast by the family music patriarch, Lefty Frizzell, Corey chose a different path, a path to create his own shadow.

Corey falls somewhere in the middle of the six children spanning four decades of Allen Frizzell, former Nashville recording artist and younger brother of the Legendary Lefty Frizzell and Country Star, David Frizzell.

Frizzell has been a Golden Gloves Boxing Champion, acted in music videos and cast for two roles in the original Stephen King movie, “Children of The Corn.” If that's not interesting enough, he's now a writer, producer, manager, boxing coach and visual artist in high demand, creating custom portraits of the stars for the stars.

In 2006, with royal country music blood running through his veins, Frizzell came full circle being named Nashville’s Artist to the Stars for his artistic collaboration with some of Country, Bluegrass, Gospel, Americana and Roots music's biggest names, including George Jones, Randy Travis, Willie Nelson, Brad Paisley, Alan Jackson, Mark Newton, Carl Jackson, Mark Chesnutt, Gene Watson and Jerrod Niemann to name a few.
