Rosarius Impresses at Hickory Test with Lee Faulk Racing
Altamonte Springs, FL, November 16, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Veterans Day 2012 not only marked the day we as a nation remember those who served for our freedom, but a day in which Florida native Jason Rosarius sat behind the wheel of his first Whelen Late Model Stock race car. Rosarius spent Saturday traveling up the East Coast to get to Newton, North Carolina and Hickory Motor Speedway, where awaiting his arrival Sunday morning would be Lee Faulk Racing and Team Owner Lee Faulk. The test was scheduled to last a total of 75-laps around the prestigious speedway that is known as the ‘birthplace of NASCAR stars’ with many of NASCARs hallowed names has raced.
From the moment Rosarius sat behind the wheel Sunday afternoon, he began to impress those in attendance. The Oviedo High School graduate immediately began to pick up where he left off in his last FASCAR Pro-Truck event. He was given instructions to focus on his line around the track as well as his entries and exits in corners rather than focus on pure speed. As the day progressed and Rosarius began to work around the .363-mile track, he began to turn lap times in the 15-second range. Laps of that speed would insert him into the Top-5 of a grid in Newton. It was certainly the strongest showing the 18-year old could have produced at that moment. The experience was one Rosarius relished in and one that drives him to work even harder to sit full-time behind the wheel of a stock car in 2013.
“I felt that I was able to show who I am and what I can do as a driver to Lee Faulk Racing this past weekend,” Rosarius stated. “I was happy to work with Lee and the crew and definitely would like to, if the opportunity presents itself, again in the future. Having the opportunity to be able to test on one of America’s oldest race tracks was a great experience and one I relish as well."
