Calloway's and Cornelius Nursery Supports the Lena Pope Home

Fort Worth, TX, November 17, 2012 --(PR.com)-- This Christmas season Calloway’s and Cornelius Nursery has pledged to donate 10 percent of the company’s poinsettia sales to Texas-based Lena Pope Home.

For nine years, Calloway’s and Cornelius Nursery has contributed to the Lena Pope Home by donating a portion of the company’s cyclamen sales. In the spirit of Christmas giving, this year Calloway’s and Cornelius chose to donate funds from the sales of poinsettias. Founded in 1930, Lena Pope Home was a home for children and families in--need in the Fort Worth area. Lena Pope Home has evolved to meet the changing needs of our community with programs of early intervention and prevention through education and counseling to help children and strengthen families.

Red, white and pink poinsettias in various sizes are currently available at all garden center locations in Dallas, Fort Worth and Houston. Poinsettias from the Texas-based garden center have more color with each six-inch plant carrying five to seven blooms.

“By changing the product focus this year, we felt we would be able to help the Lena Pope Home at a greater level. Plus, poinsettias are one of the great symbols the holiday season,” Kimberly Bird, Vice President of Retail Marketing said.

“We are so grateful to the Calloway’s and Cornelius family of stores for honoring us in such a way,” said Marilyn Sammons, Lena Pope Home Director of Development. “The holiday season is especially important to children and their families and a time we naturally want to help others. How lovely to not only enjoy the lovely flower but to know that the purchase is making a difference in the lives of children and families in our community.”
