U.S. Merchants Expect Holiday Boost from Overseas Buyers

Sarasota, FL, November 17, 2012 --(PR.com)-- International shipping companies are expecting a 75 percent increase in holiday packages this year, according to the package forwarding company MyUS.com, as international buyers ramp up their shopping with American merchants.

With Black Friday and Cyber Monday just around the corner, the company has increased staff and invested in technology to handle the projected jump in packages.

Warehouse Manager Joe Vancoppenolle, who manages the company’s warehouse in Sarasota, Fla., said the company expects to receive about 6,900 packages per day during the month of November. “In December,” said Vancoppenolle, “we will be handling, on average, 40,000 pounds and 8,000 packages on a daily basis.”

To help overseas buyers reduce shipping costs, the company consolidates customer purchases into single packages that take up less space on international flights. “The MyUS.com shipping department will be processing approximately 1,700 outgoing shipments a day in November,” advised Vancoppenolle. In December, the company expects to ship about 2,100 packages per day.
