C&J Bus Lines and Federal Savings Bank Join Forces at Caring and Sharing
Portsmouth based C&J Bus Lines and Dover based Federal Savings Bank are two of the Seacoast areas strongest community-minded businesses, so it was no surprise when the two companies joined forces to help make this year’s Caring and Sharing food drive a great success.
Dover, NH, November 18, 2012 --(PR.com)-- As an incentive to increase awareness and donations, FSB and C&J generously agreed to donate fifty cents for each non-perishable food item dropped off at Caring and Sharing headquarters during the morning hours of Friday, November 2. Due to the kindness of local community members, 3,599 food items were collected, resulting in a cash donation from C&J and FSB of $1,800. Caring and Sharing coordinators purchased Hannaford gift cards with the cash donation.
Caring and Sharing is the Seacoast’s largest canned food drive, with donated items distributed to twenty-one non-profit organizations throughout the Seacoast. The campaign this year yielded $16,829 in gift card donations and 654 cases of food. “The Holiday season, in particular, can be difficult for area residents and families in need,” said C&J Bus Lines owner, James Jalbert. “On behalf of Federal Savings Bank and C&J, we sincerely hope this donation helps make the upcoming months less burdensome for our community members facing difficult times,” he added. Federal Savings Bank has served as a corporate sponsor of Caring and Sharing for six years and C&J provides a bus each year to collect the cases of donated food. “At FSB, we have taken a pledge of allegiance to support local businesses and non-profits that make the Seacoast a better place to live and work, noted FSB President and CEO, James J. O’Neill, Jr. “C&J shares our community commitment and I am proud that this affiliation will have a positive impact on so many local families.”
