Dog Training Professionals Annual Conference
Dog obedience instructors and trainers will meet in Oklahoma City, OK on March 2-3 for the 2013 Conference, sponsored by the National Association of Dog Obedience Instructors (NADOI).
Socorro, NM, November 19, 2012 --(PR.com)-- The National Association of Dog Obedience Instructors (NADOI) will hold its 2013 Annual Conference on Saturday, March 2, and Sunday, March 3 at the Animal Resource Center in Oklahoma City, OK. Dog training instructors from around the country are expected to attend for a weekend of education and entertainment.
On Saturday, Sarah Wilson will present on "Working with People: Getting the Results You Want" "Problem Solving: Studying and Brainstorming Cases," and "What to Do When What You're Doing Isn't Working." In addition, her dog demonstrations will include "Space Games," "Creating Eager Canine Participants," and "Helping the Deficit Dog."
Sarah Wilson has been a professional dog trainer for over 25 years. She holds a Master’s degree in the human-animal bond, and is the author of several best-selling books, including "My Smart Puppy" and "Childproofing Your Dog." She appeared in the PBS show "We Why Love Cats and Dogs," and has been featured in a number of other television shows. She has previously presented for the International Association of Canine Professionals, The Canadian Association of Professional Pet Dog Trainers, and Puppyworks, among many others.
Nationally known dog expert Sue Sternberg will talk on Sunday. Her topics will include "Dog-Dog Engagements Between Unfamiliar Dogs," "Off-Leash Dog Assessments and Interactions," and "Multiple Dog Households."
Sue Sternberg, a longtime NADOI member, is the head of Rondout Valley Animals for Adoption, a community not-for-profit animal shelter which was featured in the HBO documentary, "Shelter Dogs." She is nationally known for her work on ensuring safe animal adoptions and improving the quality of life in animal shelters. Her innovative "Train to Adopt" program is designed to provide shelter dogs with mental stimulation while teaching them skills to help improve their chances to be adopted. She has published several books, including "Great Dog Adoptions: A Guide for Shelters."
The Conference has been approved for CEUs for NADOI, CCPDT, IACP, IAABC and KPA.
