OneLifeLesson.com Encourages Thanksgiving Conversation to Last More Than a Lifetime
High School Student’s Website Addresses Inter-Generational Lessons and Passing Them On
New York, NY, November 20, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Jamie Lichtenstein, a New York City high school student is calling for every family to use this Thanksgiving dinnertime to discuss “one life lesson” and pass it on through her newly created website http://www.onelifelesson.com. After hearing of all of the precious photos and family heirlooms lost in hurricane Sandy, the philanthropic Lichtenstein, 17, took to her blog at onelifelesson.com as a timely call to action for generations to share their stories and write them down so that we can all learn from one another. She was inspired to start the site after spending a weekend with her Grandfather, a Holocaust survivor, and realizing that we each need to play a part in continuing the lessons of our elders and in building the bridge between generations.
"I spend a lot of time volunteering with people of all ages and find that I learn so much from just talking to people," said Lichtenstein. She continued, “I realized that I had the opportunity and capability to create a place to share this information in my generation’s way – on the internet, so that people everywhere could learn these lessons I was learning just from listening.”
In the current blog post onhttp://www.onelifelesson.com, Lichtenstein says, “I encourage my readers to go around their holiday tables and share their life lessons.” Her hope is that families will share the lessons on the site and that by next week, the site will be populated with stories from around the tables from all over the country.
