Fort Lauderdale, FL, November 22, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Fort Lauderdale's Shockwarehouse (http://www.shockwarehouse.com) had a highlights-worthy run at the 2012 Redbull Flugtag Miami, without even getting off the launch pad. The taped TV event will be shown this Saturday at 11:30 on NBC/Comcast (check your local listings).
Following an unsuccessful showing at the 2012 Red Bull Miami Flugtag, Shockwarehouse.com Flugtag fans can tune into the taped event this Saturday November 24th on NBC/Comcast at 11:30 Eastern Time to view the spectacular crash on the launch platform.
A mechanical failure caused the Shockwarehouse Flugtag to veer off the side of the launch pad, crashing and destroying the team’s hopes of beating the 207-foot world record.
Shockwarehouse's Sean Riccardi, the pilot of the flying machine, barely escaped the crash, leaping out over the edge of the 30-foot high platform and a further 18 feet into the water. Because the Flugtag rules state that the final score of the team depends on where the pilot lands in the water, the Shockwarehouse team ended up with an 18-foot official flight, despite the flying machine never leaving the launch pad.
"The team worked for hours and hours building the Shockwarehouse Flugtag but to no avail as on launch one of the wheels snapped," laughed John D'Onofrio, CEO of Shockwarehouse. “Nobody got hurt and it looks like we will be on the highlights for a lifetime. All in all it was a spectacular time and we cannot thank the people at Red Bull enough for putting on such a first class event. We look forward to entering next year and redeeming ourselves."
