PHYX Cleaner 2 Saves DSLR Footage
PHYX Incorporated has released PHYX Cleaner 2, the second generation of the popular plugin collection.
Pittsburgh, PA, November 20, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Digital cameras bring convenience with a number of drawbacks such as noise, aliasing, and banding. PHYX Cleaner 2 is a collection of fast GPU-accelerated plugins designed to repair aliased, banded, or noisy footage with advanced refinement and reconstruction features. PHYX Cleaner 2 also includes NASA-grade sharpening tools to enhance video or 3D rendered images. PHYX Cleaner 2 plugins support Apple Final Cut Pro (X), Apple Motion, Adobe After Effects, and Adobe Premiere Pro. A demo version of PHYX Cleaner 2 is available in Noise Industries' FxFactory 4.
"We have seen numerous comments in internet forums asking; how to repair DSLR footage, how to make it look better. PHYX Cleaner 2 is our definitive answer, and may also be used to repair or enhance other digital footage or 3d renders," noted Justin Bendo, President and CEO of PHYX Incorporated.
PHYX Cleaner includes seven plugins designed to repair and improve the quality of images:
AntiAlias:
A superior plugin that provides an advanced FXAA (Fast Approximate Anti-Aliasing) along with other tools for the removal of aliasing (blockiness) in photographed or 3D rendered footage.
ChromaReconstructor:
Repairs undesirable chroma subsampling artifacts such as pixelated or blocky color by rebuilding the chroma channels of the 4:2:0 or 4:2:2 video signal into 4:4:4. Issues with the chroma may be quite apparent when keying blue or green screen material or when viewing a colorful object.
Deband:
Restores smooth gradients if posterization occurs as a result of low-bit depth sampling. Variance and smoothing are added for the removal of undesirable banding issues, as well as to dither the final images.
Deinterlace:
Converts interlaced fields into progressive frames with the following methods – Blended field, Reconstructed field, or Motion Compensated.
FastNoiseReduction:
Utilizes a variety of noise removal methods in order to minimize grain and noise. The methods are – Spatial for high frequency or fine noise, Threshold for light grain, Temporal for heavy or large grain and noise patterns, and Despeckle for uneven grain and/or noise.
HazeRemoval:
Simulates a UV filter by minimizing the atmospheric haze as a result of the UV spectrum. It also simulates a polarizing filter through color-subtraction.
Sharpest:
An improved sharpening processor which utilizes a variety of techniques, including sharpening of only the edges of images to increase perceived sharpening without increasing noise. The sharpening techniques utilized are – Low Pass filter (utilized by NASA), UnSharp Mask, and Threshold.
Price of PHYX Cleaner:
The PHYX Cleaner 2 is available with the price of $99 at the PHYX Inc website (http://www.phyxware.com). The PHYX Cleaner 2 requires FxFactory 4, which is available at the Noise Industries website (http://www.noiseindustries.com/fxfactory).
