College Announces HP IT for Business Exam Beta Test and Participant Recruitment
Community Business College selected as Beta Testing center to help foster high tech job skills in California’s Central Valley.
Modesto, CA, November 22, 2012 --(PR.com)-- In its continuing efforts to bring high-tech job training skills to Stanislaus County and the surrounding communities, Community Business College is announcing it is participating in the Hewlett Packard Information Technology for Business exam beta test. The Modesto-based college is also recruiting participants to beta test the exam.
The new HP IT for Business exam is designed to test candidates’ abilities to describe networking trends and solutions, demonstrate knowledge of how IT applications interrelate with other areas of business, and set metrics that are SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, Time bound).
With a greater emphasis on rigorous business applications than its predecessors, the new HP IT exam will be different than other HP certification exams currently offered by Community Business College. The time limit to complete the exam is greater with 210 minutes allowed and is constituted of more questions (196 possible) for the computer-administered, instructor-proctored exam.
The IT for Business certification is designed for post-secondary students pursuing business credentials. The certification is designed to build on business courses. Dan Guerra, the director of Community Business College said, “This new exam is a way to help get the Central Valley into a better position for more high-tech companies moving into and expanding in Modesto and the surrounding areas. It will also help us identify a group of potential employees for new business that expands in the area. Our overall goal is to add benefits to the Central Valley to attract high tech companies.”
The college is now taking applications for volunteer beta testers. There is no cost to participate in the beta testing and test applicants who pass the exam receive full official HP certification credentials. In appreciation for helping beta test this project, participants who beta test the exam, whether they pass or fail, will receive a gift certificate for any Community Business College online language e-classroom class. No prior beta testing experience is required to participate Enrollment in a Community Business College training program is not required to become a beta tester.
Candidates may be at various stages in their study – from completion of one or two of their required business classes through a student near graduation. The project also welcome early professionals in these fields.
An official HP credential can provide a career booster for those who are looking to either advance their employment or their promotion possibilities.
