HCR Relocation Named Sustainable Business of the Year
HCR have become the standard bearer for greener business across Hampshire after being named "Sustainable Business of the Year" at the 2012 INSPIRE Awards.
Basingstoke, United Kingdom, November 25, 2012 --(PR.com)-- The prestigious INSPIRE awards, now in their 6th year, are dedicated to businesses across the North Hampshire region and celebrate the continued development, innovation and success of a range of different organisations in the district. The glittering ceremony took place in front of 500 top business delegates from across the region at the Hampshire Court Hotel in Basingstoke on the 15th November 2012.
Having been shortlisted and receiving runner up places for the Sustainable Business award for the previous two years, the win was a welcome success for Basingstoke based employee relocation management company HCR.
Judges commented that HCR were light years ahead of businesses of similar sizes and are a beacon of what any business can achieve when they have the right attitude, leadership and most importantly staff involvement.
HCR Business Development and Marketing Director, Adrian Leach who collected the award from Alexandra Eno of award sponsors Footprint Communications commented: “Last year we won the INSPIRE11 Business of the Year which was a fantastic accolade, but this one is a rather special one for us as well - winning the sustainable award is just fantastic. I think we all have a duty to look after our planet, it sounds a bit preachy - I know, I'm sorry - but if we can reduce our carbon footprint we can make a big difference. At HCR we have done that - we are in fact a carbon neutral company - and if everybody could do that; what a difference UK plc would make.”
Felicity Edwards, managing director of Destination Basingstoke, organisers of the INSPIRE awards summarised the Awards: “It’s been another fantastic year for Inspire which continues to grow in size and stature, the number of guest and nominations are record breaking and the quality of winners really goes to show that north Hampshire really is a place that works for businesses.”
Meanwhile on the same night 20 miles down the road at the Royal Berkshire Conference Centre in Reading, HCR were also receiving recognition for their environmental practices at the Thames Valley Business Awards. HCR received second place in the Green Progress Award narrowly missing out winning to GE Healthcare.
Presenter Martin Stanford of Sky News and Hilary Devey of Dragons Den praised HCR for “punching above their weight when it comes to their green credentials” and added that the future developments HCR have in place stand them “in good stead for the future and the potential to win this award next year”.
Both of these awards are built on the strong Environmental credentials of HCR and the sustainable nature of business, not only for ‘green’ reasons but also the future development and growth of the business.
