Gaston Professor of Philosophy at Georgetown University in Washington, DC. Dr. Heelan specializes in the philosophy of science with a concentration on the philosophy of modern physics with a novel approach from the phenomenological and hermeneutics perspective of Husserl and Heidegger. Concurrently, he analyzes hermeneutics. Dr. Heelan has published papers on the philosophy of the quantum theory, contextual logic, the hermeneutics of theory and experiment and the task-dependent geometry structure of human spatial vision in everyday life, pictorial art and architecture. He is affiliated with the A.S.N.Y. Dr. Heelan was born on March 17, 1926 in Dublin, Ireland. He received a M.A. in Physics from the University of Dublin, a M.A. in Philosophy from Milltown Institute of Theology and Philosophy, a B.A. and M.A. in Theology from the University College Dublin, a Ph.D. in Geography and Physics from St. Louis University and a Ph.D. in Science from the University of Leuven in Belgium. In his spare time, he enjoys tennis and walking.
