Link-Systems International Launches Newest Version of Its Web-Based Whiteboard Designed for Mobile Learning

Link-Systems International adds new features to the WorldWideWhiteboard® to make online tutoring more engaging, accessible, and easy to use.

Tampa, FL, November 28, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Link-Systems International, Inc. (LSI), a leading provider of integrated technology and services to educators, announced the launch of its newest version of the WorldWideWhiteboard (v5.0.1) for the mobile learning environment.

The new version adds Live Tutorial and Paper Center modes that are important to campus academic support and tutoring centers. The flexibility and convenience of online tutoring services provides students with the help they need, when they need it, wherever they are. The WorldWideWhiteboard equips academic support departments with an online tutoring technology platform that requires no downloads and is fully compatible with mobile devices like the iPad, iPhone, and Android.

Live Tutorial allows a tutor to work on the whiteboard with one student at a time. When a Live Tutorial session with a student ends, the room opens up for another student to join. Private, one-to-one Live Tutorial sessions include a robust set of tools as well as audio and video functionality. Additionally, Live Tutorial sessions can be archived for viewing at a later date.

The Paper Center lets students drop off papers at any time, even when tutors are not online. Tutors can review, add comments, and mark up papers at their convenience. All papers are automatically embedded into a special version of the WorldWideWhiteboard that contains a toolset of paper proofing marks. After they are reviewed, the marked up papers are sent back to students via a central repository for all reviewed papers. Tutors and/or instructors associated with a group have access to all submitted papers, while students only have access to their own papers.

“Our commitment to providing educators with the latest technology for aiding in student retention and completion is evident with this new version of the WorldWideWhiteboard,” said Ric Ginn, Product Development Manager. “We develop our solutions to stay on pace with changes in technology and the dynamic needs of students. This new version of the WorldWideWhiteboard is the first of its kind to enter the market.”

With the ability to drag-and-drop content from websites onto the whiteboard and embed YouTube or other video content directly into a whiteboard canvas, the WorldWideWhiteboard facilitates and retains student interaction better than ever before. And integration of the WorldWideWhiteboard into a learning management system is made easy with a proven SSO architecture and Basic LTI support.
