New CPR Timing Device Patent Issued
Rapid Response Solutions’ Rhythm of Life CPR Timer receives U.S. patent.
Peshtigo, WI, November 30, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Rapid Response Solutions, LLC (www.CPRtimer.com) announced today its Rhythm of Life CPR Timer has been granted U.S. Patent No. 8,317,519. The Rhythm of Life is a pocket-sized CPR metronome designed to assist rescuers in providing high-quality cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) or cardiocerebral resuscitation (CCR). The metronome uses clear visual and audible selectable prompts to guide the rescuer through patient resuscitation in compliance with the latest medical guidelines.
Since 2005 the American Heart Association (AHA) has advocated that high-quality CPR is the most critical component of the resuscitation of a pulseless patient. Recent studies have shown that despite the AHA’s updated guidance, the quality of multiple parameters of CPR are frequently inconsistent and often do not meet published guideline recommendations, even when performed by well-trained hospital staff. Research published in the AHA’s 2005 Guidelines showed that audio/visual prompts could significantly improve adherence to current CPR Guidelines. The latest 2010 Guidelines for CPR place even stronger emphasis on the importance of chest compressions. The Rhythm of Life promotes resuscitation that is compliant with the 2010 Guidelines, ensuring that quality care is delivered giving patients the best chance for survival.
Rapid Response Solutions is a startup company based in Peshtigo, WI. The Rhythm of Life was created by Mike Orlando, a 29-year-old paramedic in response to the 2005 and 2010 American Heart Association Guidelines for CPR and a need for CPR timing devices designed for use within the healthcare industry.
