Superior Grocers Joins Forces with Nestle USA to Donate $152,000 to Local Schools in Southern California

Los Angeles, CA, November 29, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Superior Grocers, one of the largest independent supermarket chains in Southern California, has partnered once again with Nestlé USA to continue its commitment to education in Southern California. In an effort to support local schools, Superior Grocers and Nestlé USA’s school donation partnership will award a total of $152,000 to 132 local schools, each school receiving $1,000 and $20,000 to the National Guard Youth Foundation.

School representatives from the awarded schools and representatives from the National Guard Youth Foundation will be attending a special ceremony to be held on Friday, December 7, 2012 at the Superior Grocers store in Montebello, CA.

This program is well received by the community and the funds will help further student’s nutrition, health and wellness education, helping them achieve academic potential, physical and mental growth, and lifelong health and well-being.

A special ceremony to award these donations to school representatives will be held on Friday, December 7, 2012 at 10a.m. The event will take place at the Superior Grocers’ store location at 1201 W. Whittier Blvd, Montebello, CA 90640.
