People Care 4 Day Care Launches Fundraising Drive with Rare Sports Footage

Alameda, CA, July 20, 2007 --(PR.com)-- People Care 4 Day Care, Inc., has launched its annual fundraising drive with a special offer for supporters: rare sports interviews and videos.

"These sports classics cannot be found elsewhere and we are excited to be able to offer them as gifts to those who make donations of $25 (video) or $50 (DVDs)," says PC4DC Executive Director, Ralph Zig Tyko.

The video is an independently produced documentary called "Portland Rockies: The Video." Players, coaches, managers, fans, the owner Jack Cain, and even the mascot Rockie [the former Beavers mascot] are interviewed in this behind the scenes [somewhat campy] look at one of the most successful minor league [Colorado Rockies farm team] franchises in history. Set in scenic Oregon, the video includes game footage at Civic Stadium. Superb videography makes this a “must have.” Casey Kotchman, the then-13 year old batboy for the visiting Boise Hawks, plays a cameo role.

The DVDs (a set of three) include uncut footage recorded in 1994 at California State University, Hayward, for the show "Sports From the Top of the Hill." Featured interviews include famed sportswriter Leonard Kopett, Giants veterans Charlie Fox and Hank Sauer, and former Yankees Joe DeMaestri and Charlie Silvera.
