McGough Academy Team Qualifies for 2013 Irish Dancing World Championships

Yonkers, NY, November 30, 2012 --(PR.com)-- The McGough Academy of Irish dance will be sending the junior team to the World Championships in March 2013 in Boston, MA. The dancers placed 12th overall and qualified on Sunday, November 25th in the Mid-Atlantic Regional Oireachtas Championships.

In the solo category, Christina Wiltz, age 5, placed 1st in Girls Under 7 Competition. She will be representing the McGough Academy at the Irish Dancing National Championships in Anaheim, CA in July 2013.

The McGough Academy is the Newest TCRG Certified Irish Dance Teaching Academy in the Irish Community of Yonkers, New York. The instructor, Meagan McGough, started dancing in 1991 and has spent more than twenty years competing with World Champions throughout America, Ireland, Canada, Scotland and Great Britain under the DeNogla School of Irish dance. She has won numerous Prestigious Awards from the Mid-Atlantic Regional Oireachtas, the North American Championships, All-Ireland Championships and The World Championships. Meagan is currently an active, registered TCRG instructor with the CLRG World Irish dancing Commission in Dublin, Ireland, the IDTANA National USA Commission and the Mid-Atlantic Region.
