Mayor to Speak at Morton Grove Historical Society

Morton Grove, IL, November 29, 2012 --(PR.com)-- The Morton Grove Historical Society will host current Morton Grove Mayor Daniel J. Staackmann at the Museum Education Center for a presentation about his predecessors in office.

This educational presentation, "The History of Morton Grove's Mayors," will take place on Saturday, December 1, 2012, from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at the Museum Education Center at 6148 Dempster Street, Morton Grove. Mayor Staackmann will share stories of the people and their times that were chosen by Morton Grove’s residents to serve as their Mayor in the three centuries of the Village’s history! Along with interesting facts and anecdotes about Morton Grove’s incorporation on Christmas Eve of 1895, Mayor Staackmann will take current residents and history buffs through the Roaring Twenties, Great Depression, Post-War Booms, and expansion during the turbulent Sixties and the Disco Era right up to today.
