Mikron Digital Supplies Two MobileDaRt Evo’s to Lurie Children’s Hospital Opening
Chicago’s prestigious Children's Memorial Hospital celebrated the grand opening of its widely anticipated new children's hospital, Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago, on June 9, 2012.
Detriot, MI, December 04, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Mikron Digital Imaging-Midwest was pleased to provide two MobileDaRt Evolution Wireless digital portables from Shimadzu for the historic occasion.
Mikron Digital Imaging-Midwest is a Midwest distributor of Shimadzu products.
The two MobileDaRt Evolution units were purchased by the hospital at the beginning of May. They were formally installed on May 29.
According to Debbie Thompson, Marketing Director at Mikron Digital, the units will be used in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). “They purchased two state-of-the-art MobileDaRt Evolution units because they needed a digital portable with Shimadzu’s exclusive 11" x 14" small detector format on each floor to handle the volume of pediatric cases.”
The MobileDaRt Evolution is a wireless digital mobile X-ray system that allows verification of images just three seconds after they are obtained, eliminating the need to replace cassettes and read CR barcodes. With its outstanding operability combined with its easy positioning in restrictive locations, the system provides powerful support in medical facilities with a high number of emergency cases. The wireless 11" x 14" Canon CXDI-80C flat panel detector integrated into the 32 kW x-ray system provides rapid-speed x-rays that produce clear images even with the most restless of children, and at a lower dose, which makes it ideal for pediatric care.
Other features of the Shimadzu MobileDaRt Evolution Wireless Digital Mobile X-ray System:
Inch-Mover: Allows moving forward or backward for fine positioning with bedside drive controls located on the front of the collimator.
Keyless entry: Each user has a 4-digit key command password to turn on the system, enabling multiple staff members to share the same unit without needing a key.
Low dose for patients: The high sensitivity of the wireless flat panel detector (FPD) ensures low patient X-ray dose.
State-of-the-art control software: The optimized workflow reduces steps and supports multiple-study acquisition.
Wireless Networking: The wireless network connection provides even greater freedom for communication to RIS or PACS while moving the unit.
According to Thompson, “Mikron was able to differentiate itself from other X-ray equipment distributers because Shimadzu is the only manufacturer that offers the smaller 11" x 14" panels for the pediatric giraffe-type beds. In addition, the short x-ray exposure time reduces the dose that each patient takes in while producing image quality that is the best on the market.”
She also points to Mikron Digital’s superior training and service: “Mikron Digital’s servicing is superior to any in the field. We provided applications training by top instructors. Unlike other companies, Mikron provides almost unlimited applications training so that anytime a new technologist comes on board we train them. All service calls are answered within ten minutes and a service engineer is dispatched immediately.”
Shimadzu's MobileDaRt Evolution was recognized with a #1 ranking for 18 consecutive quarters by MD Buyline and was “Best in KLAS” for four years in the digital mobile x-ray category.
