South Texas Dental Announces Technology Upgrades
Houston, TX, December 05, 2012 --(PR.com)-- South Texas Dental has completed the installation of over $1.5 million in new technologies in its 24 offices to improve the quality of patient care, improve record keeping and contribute to its goal of creating a paperless practice by the end of 2013.
South Texas Dental operates offices in Houston, Dallas, Fort Worth in San Antonio.
The upgrades allow dentists to enter patient history and treatment records into a computer where they will be stored electronically rather than recorded on paper and filed, a process expected to improve charting and allow for patient information to be accessed more efficiently.
X-rays are now recorded using digital sensors in lieu of film thereby creating a high-quality image that improves patient care and offers faster retrieval of images that can be evaluated by a dentist and shared with patients and insurance companies in a more efficient manner.
Moreover, storing these documents online allows dentists to quickly retrieve patient information from any South Texas Dental office.
Besides expediting treatments and procedures and improving the quality of care, the upgrades are expected to dramatically reduce the amount of paper, folders and other hard-copy documents used in each South Texas Dental office.
“These upgrades to digital x-rays and state-of-the-art systems enhance the quality of care we are able to provide and improves the dental visit experience for both the patient and the dentist,” said Dr. Greg Lerner of South Texas Dental.
