PDR Named Top Houston Workplace for Third Straight Year
Houston, TX, December 06, 2012 --(PR.com)-- For the third consecutive year, PDR (Planning Design Research Corp.) was honored as one of Houston’s “Top Workplaces” in a survey conducted by the Houston Chronicle. Notably, PDR is the only architecture firm named among the top ten.
PDR also is one of only 39 Houston companies to earn this prestigious recognition for three consecutive years.
The firm received favorable reviews based on confidence in leadership and career growth potential confirming that PDR’s open work plan is more than just a design element of their office but a business model strategy.
“Since my first days with PDR, senior management has always put PDR people first,” said one of the firm's architects. “It’s not simply about making a profit (which is important and we do) but it’s about balancing that with a healthy workstyle and family obligations.”
“If you have a new idea, management encourages you to take ownership of developing and implementing it, ideas can come from any level, in general people don't shoot down an idea just because we've never done it that way,” said a designer on staff.
Another architect at PDR says, “Opportunities exist on projects for individual input that foster creative input from all levels. This atmosphere keeps everyone thinking and developing ideas that are unique to each project.”
More than 72,500 Houston-area employees responded to the survey as conducted by Workplace Dynamics. Respondents rated their companies in areas including opportunities for advancement, the value of their pay and benefits and their supervisors’ communication and management skills.
