SPI Study Abroad Announces New Scholarships for 2013 Summer Immersion Programs
Leading high school study abroad provider offers new scholarships for summer language immersion and global leadership programs.
Austin, TX, December 08, 2012 --(PR.com)-- SPI Study Abroad, the leading provider of high quality language immersion programs for high school students, announced its creation of the La Esperanza Scholarship Fund and new summer 2013 language immersion program scholarships.
“We want to be able to offer students of all socio-economic backgrounds the opportunity to study abroad in high school,” said Jeremy Goodwin, executive director of SPI Study Abroad. “I know there are some very dedicated and deserving students out there who will appreciate and take full advantage of this experience, so we’re very excited to announce our three new scholarships.”
SPI Study Abroad has created its own La Esperanza Scholarship Fund. The fund will enable one qualified student a full scholarship, including airfare, to participate in the SPI Costa Rica Spanish immersion program in Flamingo Beach, Costa Rica. There will also be two SPI Ambassador $500 scholarships awarded to students participating in SPI’s Spain, France or Italy immersion and global leadership programs.
“As soon as we posted the scholarship information, we started receiving inquiries and applications,” said Carrie Straub, admissions and program advisor at SPI Study Abroad. “I’m sure it’s going to be really hard to choose the winners, but I’m looking forward the announcement in April and hearing their excitement when they find out!”
Applications for the SPI Study Abroad scholarships are due by March 1. The scholarship application process entails completing the scholarship form on the SPI Study Abroad website, and submitting a current transcript or report card, a language teacher recommendation, and a personal essay.
