A Hot and Tasty Way to Send a Personal Greeting
With greeting cards becoming a thing of the past, tea notes offer a unique and contemporary option for showing people you care.
Kitchener, Canada, December 08, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Tenota {TEE-note-ah} introduces a totally new concept to the gift industry through their innovative creation, the tea note. A tea note is an individual serving of loose leaf tea, elegantly packaged in a pyramid bag and attached to a tag with a customized message for the recipient. The finished product is neatly packaged and mailed to the recipient on the customer’s behalf. “We like to think of it as sending a tasty greeting card,” says Cassie Smith, Co-founder and Owner of Tenota along with her husband Dave Smith.
Cassie, an avid tea-drinker, currently works as a personal counsellor and therapist at the University of Waterloo, while Dave is the owner of growing online fitness business. Both Cassie and Dave prioritize the role that health and wellness play in their own and others’ lives. Cassie says her work with clients was part of her inspiration for tea notes.
"I know how significant it is for a person’s well-being to both give and receive positive affirmation. There are many emotional and psychological benefits to both giving and receiving a thoughtful gift. With Tenota, we wanted to capture the simple pleasure of a shared cup of tea and gift it to the people in our lives. Our mission is to spread positive feelings and promote wellness through the tasty, thoughtful medium of tea notes."
Ordering tea notes is made simple for customers through Tenota’s online purchasing system. Customers can simply go online (see www.tenota.com) to select their preferred tea flavour and compose a personal greeting, and Tenota will do the rest. Interested in distributing them yourself for stocking stuffers? Thank-you gifts? Office greetings? Tenota also offers a bulk mailing option allowing customers to receive a larger package of up to ten tea notes (individually packaged in envelopes with each recipient’s name) which can then be personally distributed.
Sending a greeting card seems almost outdated these days. Plus, the effort required to find, purchase, customize, and mail a greeting to someone (who will likely smile and then toss it in the trash) seems somewhat daunting. With email, social media, and text messaging dominating as the primary mediums for personal communication, the tradition of sending personal greetings in the mail has been lost. Tea notes offer the convenience of online ordering, but still preserve and even add to the excitement of receiving something tangible in the mail. One happy recipient writes:
"Opening the mailbox can be depressing. I'm used to getting just a bunch of junk mail and bills. When I got my first tea note I was so excited to get something that was just for me - It was a nice treat that engaged so many of my senses – touch, smell, taste – plus the emotional sentiment of the message."
At the moment, Dave and Cassie and frantically trying to keep up with the orders coming in for the Christmas season. “We are thrilled to see such a positive response to our product,” says Cassie, “there are going to be some happy tea-drinkers out there!”
Founded in 2012 by Cassie and Dave Smith, Tenota is a gifting service that allows the customer to create a customized tea tag containing a personal message for the recipient. The customer can also select the unique tea flavour they wish to send in order to further personalize the gift. The product is a high-end loose leaf tea, packaged in a biodegradable pyramid bag and attached to a personalized tea tag. Tea notes are a gift that aim to blend the enjoyment of a good cup of tea with a message that will inspire, get a laugh, or let someone know that you were thinking of them.
