Toy Drive for Unemployed Parents
The Greater Vine City Opportunities Program and Stimulate America Partner to Sponsor Toy Drive for Unemployed Parents
Atlanta, GA, December 09, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Although aggressive economic recovery efforts are being made daily, thousands of parents across the Atlanta Metropolitan Area remain unemployed and even displaced. Providing toys and gifts this Christmas pose a great challenge for many disadvantaged unemployed parents. The Greater Vine City Opportunities Program and Stimulate America Inc. have vowed to help these families have a wonderful Christmas despite their current circumstances by collecting new and unwrapped toys at four locations around Metro Atlanta. “If ever there was a time families needed an economic boost it is right now during the Christmas season,” stated “Able” Mable Thomas, State Representative Elect District 56 and Founder of the GVCOP. “We want to remove the worries of unemployed parents who thought they may not be able to give their children anything on Christmas,” states Tiffani Howard, Founder and President of Stimulate America Inc.
Citizens and businesses are encouraged to bring new and unwrapped toys for children ages 1-16 to one of four Toy Drive Collection Centers located at the GVCOP Office, 755 Joseph E. Boone Drive in Atlanta (formerly Simpson Rd.) and any three of the United Corp International Kitchen & Bath Showrooms located at 793 North Main St in Alpharetta, 1320 Johnson Ferry Road in Marietta and 6555 Jimmy Carter Blvd in Norcross. Toy collection will be open to the public between the hours of 9am to 5pm Monday through Sunday from now until December 14.
Gifts collected from the Toy Drive will be distributed to children and their families on Saturday December 15 from 11am to 2pm at the GVCOP 18th Annual Christmas Party to be held at the Salvation Army Bellwood Boys & Girls Club at 777 Donald Lee Hollowell Pkwy. (formerly Bankhead Hwy); hosted by the Greater Vine City Opportunity Program Inc, the D.R.E.A.M. Team and the English Avenue Neighborhood Association.
