University Admissions Website Design Earns Third Wave Digital IMA Outstanding Achievement Award

Macon, GA, January 15, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Third Wave Digital’s award winning creative team today announces the honor of being awarded the Outstanding Achievement Award from the Interactive Media Awards (IMA) for University website design.

The award was presented to Third Wave Digital (TWD) for the design and development of Macon, Georgia’s Mercer University Office of Admissions website http://gomercer.com.

Designed to deliver an immersive and interactive experience, http://GoMercer.com allows prospective students to explore the university through the eyes of current students. This concept, which was successfully utilized by Mercer University’s previous admissions website – also created by Third Wave Digital - showcases video tours of actual Mercer students at popular campus locations in a way that allows prospective students to “see” what life is like for a Mercer Bear.

Mercer University’s “Be the Bear” recruitment campaign, served as the focal point for the website’s new design. In addition to interactive student video tours, http://GoMercer.com also boasts over 30 minutes of informative videos and streaming media clips, interactive navigation, a custom designed graphic user interface, music bedding and an interactive, virtual campus map.

The IMA’s recognize outstanding achievement in interactive design and development and once a year, award designs in the “university” category. To receive the Outstanding Achievement Award, entered websites must excel in all areas of judging criteria and represent a very high standard of planning, execution and overall professionalism. This year’s competition featured eighty-four entries and each was judged on design, content, feature functionality, usability, standards compliance and cross-browser compatibility.

This is the 5th IMA award that Third Wave Digital has received for higher education website design. Previous Outstanding Achievement Awards include Commercial Diving Academy (2010), Florida Keys Community College (2008), College of Health and Human Sciences (2007) and the Best In Class Award for the original Mercer University admissions website in 2006.
