Ocala Company Creates Patch to Honor Murdered Navy Vet

Ocala, FL, December 09, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Navy Lt. Charles “Chick” Silva, 77, served his country in Vietnam flying F-8 fighter jets, and flew reconnaissance flights during the 1962 Cuban missile crisis. In September, he was brutally attacked at a Virginia private airport, and died Oct. 24.

When family and friends chose to honor him by having a special embroidered patch made with his name on it, they turned to Wholesale-Patches.com, a division of Ocala-based TJM Promotions. On Saturday, Dec. 8, Naval Academy Midshipman Tra’ves Bush took the field wearing the patch at the annual Army-Navy football game in Philadelphia.

As reported in the Norfolk Virginian-Pilot, the Naval Academy tradition of having players wear patches of their choice for the Army game dates back decades. Bush chose to honor Silva after reading a letter from Silva’s son detailing what happened to him.

TJM Promotions is honored to have been selected as the provider of this special patch to commemorate Lt. Silva’s life and dedication to his country. We offer our condolences to Lt. Silva’s family and friends, and are grateful for his sacrifice and dedication to keeping our nation safe.
