National & Local Experts Coming to Valley to Present on Permaculture Principles
2013 Permaculture Design Course: Drylands (PDC) is coming to Phoenix Valley in January of 2013.
Phoenix, AZ, December 09, 2012 --(PR.com)-- The Valley Permaculture Alliance (VPA) is bringing in nationally and locally recognized experts to present and demonstrate this year’s 2013 Permaculture Design Course: Drylands (PDC).
Bill Mollison, creator of permaculture, defines permaculture as a philosophy of working with, rather than against nature; of protracted and thoughtful observation rather than thoughtless labor; of looking at plants and animals in all their functions, rather than treating any area as a single-product system.
The VPA PDC is a comprehensive program for anyone wanting to learn the permaculture principles and how to apply them to individual, unique settings and lifestyles.
When asked previous ’07 PDC graduate, Jo Cook, what she took away from the ’07 PDC program, she responded. “I learned how to connect the dots and think about systems rather than about needs. I learned how to observe patterns and integrate them into design solutions, and I also learned that regardless of how the problems in our lives came to be, we can deal with them by consciously being part of the solution.”
This year, unique to all previously taught VPA PDC programs, students can take as few sessions as they like or all 12 sessions earning them the PDC Certification.
“One of the great things about this course is the diversity of the students and we hope that by making the classes more accessible in timing and in cost that we will be able to attract people who wouldn’t normally be able to take the class,” added Doreen Pollack, Executive Director of VPA.
