Mira Telecom Awarded Best Research - Development Project Prize, at the Mobile Communication Gala 2012
Mira Telecom was awarded the “Best R&D Project” prize at the Mobile Communication Gala 2012.
Bucharest, Romania, December 10, 2012 --(PR.com)-- The company was rewarded for the construction of the Research- Development Center from Joita (Giurgiu County), within the 9th edition of the Gala, organized by the "Mobile Communication" magazine, with the support of the Romanian Academy, on December 5th, at the Romanian Academy Library, from Bucharest.
In the first part of the event, open with a press release sent by the Minister of Communication and Information Society, Dan Nica, the over 450 IT&C professionals and decision makers, gathered in the Romanian Academy Hall, debated the possibility to create an Advisory Council of the Romanian digital industry, 15 years from the mobile communication industry beginning in Romania. Representatives of the main mobile communication services providers held presentation on up to date themes.
The event ended with the prize awarding ceremony for the 17 nominated categories, among which: Best Telecom Operator 2012, Best Technology 2012, Best IT&C Performance 2012, Best Mobile Terminal 2012, Best Mobile Service 2012 and Best R&D Project. The complete list of the winners is available here.
“We were honored to receive this year’s prize at the Mobile Communication Gala and this is a new confirmation of the fact that our efforts for the development of the research center from Joita echoed in the domains in which our company is active,” said Dragoș Băsmăluță, CEO Mira Telecom.
The building of the research center developed by Mira Telecom in Joita was delivered in August 2012 and it includes research labs in various domains: applicative software development, electromagnetic research, multidisciplinary research (electronics, biophysics, chemistry), complex trials (in various climate conditions, electromagnetic, mechanic environments), equipped with the latest technology equipment. The center is an investment worth around 4 million Euro, 0.8 million Euro of which is non- reimbursable European financing.
Within the event, the software specialists from Mira Telecom also presented the first project delivered at Joita Center, “Mira Security Sphere.” The project is a software platform for integrated security management that integrates multiple subsystems: video surveillance (analogy and IP), intrusion and alarm detection, access control, fire detection and alarm, fire extinction, GIS (Geographic Information System) and industrial automation. The system addresses various markets: airports, train stations, harbors, banks, public buildings, hospitals, shopping centers, office buildings, universities and schools, museums, exhibitions, correctional facilities, factories, industrial buildings, warehouses.
