Attorney Vincent J. Sanzone, Obtains Not Guilty Verdict for Client Charged with First Degree Accomplice Armed Robbery
A Union County Jury found Christopher Carre not-guilty as an accomplice of Alfonso Garcia, when Mr. Garcia committed the armed robbery of Bong's Jewelry Store located in Plainfield, New Jersey.
Elizabeth, NJ, December 10, 2012 --(PR.com)-- A union county jury found the defendant Christopher Carre (Indictment No. 10-08-841-I) not guilty on all four counts of a Union County Indictment charging Mr. Carre with being an accomplice and getaway driver for Alfonso Garcia who plead guilty to the December 16, 2009 armed robbery of Bong’s Jewelry Store in Plainfield New Jersey. Mr. Garcia plead guilty to the robbery and agreed to testify against Mr. Carre the day Mr. Garcia was to go on trial.
Alfonso Garcia testified at the trial that it was Christopher Carre who planned the robbery with him and acted as his getaway driver for him. Attorney Sanzone engaged in a devastating cross-examination of Mr. Garcia which spanned for almost two days.
The jury deliberated for about 3 hours before it reached its unanimous verdict and found Mr. Carre not guilty on all four counts.
The robbery of the store was captured on store surveillance video and was televised by a number of news channels, which showed the face of Mr. Garcia, and eventually lead to the capture of Alfonso Garcia in Fort Lauderdale Florida, in December of 2009.
Mr. Christopher was represented by the Elizabeth criminal defense attorney, Vincent J. Sanzone, Jr. The two week trial was before the Honorable William A. Daniel, J.S.C., judge of the superior court. The State of New Jersey was represented by the Union County Prosecutor's Office.
