Zco Extends Services to Newest Mobile Devices and Platforms
Zco Corporation has been offering services in multi-platform software development for over 20 years.
Hudson, NH, December 20, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Zco Corporation has been offering services in multi-platform software development for over 20 years. This month, Zco extended its services to accommodate the release of Microsoft’s Windows Phone 8 and Apple’s iPhone 5, iPad Mini and 4th generation iPad.
Apple’s newest mobile devices bring more possibilities for developers to join the growing success of Apple’s App Store. Many apps are being updated from previous versions or developed for specific use on the iPhone 5. The new iPhone’s larger, 4-inch screen means that any app made for previous versions will run with black bars on either end of the screen. Reformatting applications for the larger screen while maintaining compatibility with older iPhones could help an app stand out and widen the user base. The iPad Mini, Apple’s entry into the smaller tablet market, could open doors to a new realm of applications. According to Apple, the size of the device makes it ideal for reading, watching videos, and playing games.
Included in the extension of Zco’s services is the availability of PolicePad and FireTab for the iPhone 5 and iPad Mini. These tools are designed to enhance communication and mobility among public safety officials and allow access to real-time data such as 911 calls, locations of reports, and live video streaming. Zco originally developed the revolutionary public safety tools for use on the iPad and recently made them available on Android smartphones and previous versions of the iPhone. Now public safety officials will be able to use the tools on all versions of the iPhone and iPad, including the iPad Mini, starting this month.
Zco's development services will also extend to Windows Phone 8, Microsoft’s newest mobile platform following Windows Phone 7. The platform syncs with other Windows systems, and offers a tiled UI for constant updates. Nokia, the world’s second largest mobile phone manufacturer, started shipping devices running a Windows Phone 8 OS this month. The Windows Phone Marketplace currently holds over 125,000 apps and is growing faster than Android’s marketplace did when it debuted in 2008. With the rising success of Windows Phone, IDC predicts it will become the second most used smartphone platform by 2016, beating out iOS.
Zco Corporation will continue to offer development services for previous versions of Windows Phone and the iPhone, along with the more recent releases.
