Gruber Power Services of Phoenix Arizona would like to extend the following tips during the holiday season.

Tip one: Just because it is cold outside does not mean that it can be warm in your data room. Computer equipment is just as sensitive to the heat during the cold months. Make sure that you are properly regulating your room temperature.

Tip two: Brown outs are a silent killer. With heaters turning on and off in your workplace, you will experience voltage changes. Some of these may be too slight to notice. These voltage spikes are putting a strain on your electrical equipment. Ensure that all of your sensitive equipment is connected to a battery back-up system (UPS).

Tip three: Check your battery back-up system (UPS) batteries before the storm hits. Don’t wait until you hear of an incoming winter storm. Ensure that you have fresh, new UPS batteries to combat those power outages and voltage spikes that you will experience.
