Consumer Communications & Networking Advances Featured at IEEE CCNC 2013 from January 11 – 14, 2013 at the Flamingo Las Vegas Hotel in Nevada
Leading International Conference Held in Conjunction with CES 2013 Emphasizes the Latest Development of On-demand Entertainment & Information Technologies.
New York, NY, December 23, 2012 --(PR.com)-- IEEE Consumer Communications and Networking Conference (CCNC 2013), the leading international conference dedicated to driving the advance of on-demand consumer electronics technologies, will hold its next annual event from January 11 – 14, 2013 at the Flamingo Las Vegas Hotel in Nevada. Held in conjunction with the 2013 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES), IEEE CCNC 2013 is specifically designed to host over 40 business and industry sessions devoted to anytime, anywhere entertainment and information technologies delivering ease-of-use, security and stunning interactivity regardless of time or location.
Officially commencing Friday, January 11, the conference will open with a full day of tutorials and workshops dedicated to topics such as “Consumer eHealth Platforms, Services and Applications,” “Internet of Things- RFIDs, WSNs and Beyond,” “People Centric Sensing and Communications,” “Advances in Home Networking Standardization and Related Research Opportunities” and “Emerging Technologies for Future Tele-Communication.” In the ensuing days, hundreds of business and industrial sessions will then detail the newest generation of consumer and home networking solutions. Among these will be the “Home Energy Management Networking Panel” on January 12 and the ongoing keynote addresses of experts like:
· Donald L. Schilling, Chairman of LINEX Technologies, who will speak about his "Vision of Wireless Consumer Communications" and the development of “Wireless Cities,” where people will use just one phone or hand-held computer to enable nearly every form of electronic communication in real time
· Kilsu Eo, Senior Vice President, Samsung and leader of the company’s Convergence Solution Team at the Software R&D Center and User Experience Center at the DMC R&D Center, where he is responsible for developing cloud server/services, data analytics, web-centric solutions, and convergence platforms and ecosystems designed to advance the every day use of consumer electronic devices, future cars and health care devices
· I.P. Park, Executive Vice President and CTO at HARMAN International, who is currently overseeing the company’s automotive infotainment, consumer and professional audio system R&D activities
In addition, the conference will be highlighted by numerous demonstrations showcasing new innovations in home appliance control systems, wireless sensor networks supporting indoor air quality monitoring, smartphone application defined computing and online weathering reporting incorporating micro blog entries, user videos and outdoor data. CES 2013 visitors will also have the opportunity to experience several of these demonstrations in-person and prior to the conference at IEEE booth #30242 located in the South Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center. This includes an introduction to "New e-health business models” detailing how non-IP supporting Continua-certified health devices, such as weighing scales, can be unlocked by Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) systems for use by other devices and services in the home as well as a demo of “New Security Frameworks Based On TLS For NFC P2P Applications In The Internet Of Things." A third demo on “Application Defined Computing in Smartphones and Consumer Electronics” will be presented by Samsung to show how DRAM (memory) systems can improve energy delay product by 23% and performance by 17% for smartphones.
Other conference milestones include the presentation of more than 100 technical papers and works-in-progress sessions featuring issues like “Robust Wearable Health Monitoring Systems,” “Audiovisual and Haptic Interactive IP Communications,” “Energy Efficient Green Cellular Networks,” “Multihop Vehicle-to-Vehicle Communications Over TV White Spaces,” “Mobile Applications to Facilitate Electric Vehicle Deployment,” “Real-Life applicable Fall Detection Systems” and “New Posture Monitoring Systems for Preventing Physical Illness of Smartphone Users.”
Furthermore, each of the finalists of the “Join the Mobile Code Jam Challenge” will be introduced and awarded prizes throughout the course of IEEE CCNC 2013.
