Timothy J. McCarthy, President of Checker Sedan, Elected to the Board of Directors of The Detroit Regional Chamber
Detroit, MI, July 27, 2007 --(PR.com)-- Timothy J. McCarthy, president of Checker Sedan, was elected to the Detroit Regional Chamber Board of Directors. Checker Sedan is a division of Detroit-based Soave Enterprises and part of the Soave Transportation Group.

As president of the Soave Transportation Group, McCarthy is dedicated to providing metro Detroit with reliable quality transportation, meeting the region’s various needs through its three companies; Checker Sedan, the official luxury sedan service of Detroit Metro Airport; Checker Cab, the oldest and largest taxi service company serving metro Detroit; and Commuter Express, which charters motor coaches and mini-buses for corporate events and group tours.
McCarthy has been an executive with Soave Enterprises since 1981. Before becoming president of the Soave Enterprises Transportation Group, he served in several senior level operational and financial positions with the holding company.
Prior to joining Soave Enterprises, McCarthy served as a Certified Public Accountant at the international public accounting firm, Price Waterhouse & Co. (now PriceWaterhouseCoopers) from 1969 until 1981.
McCarthy also serves as Vice-Chair of the Detroit Metro Convention and Visitors Bureau. Additionally, he is a member of the Transportation Advisory Council for SEMCOG and sits on SEMCOG’s Ann Arbor – Detroit Steering Committee, which is studying mass transit alternatives for that corridor.
A graduate of Walsh College, McCarthy resides in Grosse Pointe with his wife, Patty. They have three adult children and six grandchildren.
