Top Award Goes to Local Handyman
The UK Guild of Handymen has chosen Jonathan Drewe as Handyman of the Year for 2012 for his services in furthering the reputation and public perception of handymen.
Ticehurst, United Kingdom, December 26, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Handyman of the Year 2012
The UK Guild of Handymen has chosen Jonathan Drewe as Handyman of the Year for 2012 for his services in furthering the reputation and public perception of handymen.
The Guild were particularly impressed that Jonathan, despite their own unsuccessful efforts, had managed to convince FreeIndex (the UK's most popular online trade directory) that flat-pack assemblers should not be classified as handymen.
Jonathan argued successfully that flatpack assembly is only a tiny portion of the abilities attributed to true handymen and hence the 'flat-packers' should be in a category of their own.
The single classification had annoyed many Guild members because flat-packers were easily able to gain reviews from their 'one-off' customers which constantly ranked them above 'proper' handymen who commonly have repeat business.
Jonathan's handyman business www.handymaninsussex.co.uk currently has nearly 40 independent reviews on FreeIndex which is way above the three reviews called for as part of the Guild's minimum membership requirement.
With a background in heavy civil engineering, gained from the family business which erected motorway infrastructure, Jonathan has a wealth of experience spanning more than 20 years.
This includes nine years spent renovating flats and farm buildings and three years as project manager with an architectural practice.
While Jonathan's handyman operation targets people wanting smaller jobs, he is also able to offer more traditional building work through the holding company Oakover Contracting Limited. www.oakovercontracting.co.uk
The Guild feel Jonathan epitomises what a good handyman is all about and exhibits endorsement of the Guild's three-word motto: Experience, Competence, Excellence
